Black Eyed Peas extend US chart record

Black Eyed Peas have extended their record reign over the US singles chart.

The pop-rap four-piece have now spent the last 26 weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100 - 12 with 'Boom Boom Pow', followed by 14 with current number one 'I Gotta Feeling'.

Behind the Peas, Jay Sean bounces back to two with 'Down', while Miley Cyrus rebounds to three with 'Party In The USA'.

Meanwhile, Jason DeRulo jumps from ten to five with 'Whatcha Say', a track based on a sample from Imogen Heap's 'Hide and Seek'.

Black Eyed Peas are being sued by a female worker

Winter Sumpter has taken legal action against the band and said during a rehearsal for the band's show in Burbank, California in 2007, she fell through a flight of stairs when "one of the treads became detached".

According to documents obtained by TMZ.com, Sumpter claims that she suffered "severe and permanent injuries" and was left with "mental, physical and nervous pain and suffering".

She is suing the Black Eyed Peas, BEP Touring and others for unspecified damages.

Black Eyed Peas are still top of the charts which denied Peter Andre his glory

The singer's bid for chart glory was stopped dead by the US band as regained their place at the top of the UK singles chart, after being knocked off last week by Tinchy Stryder.

But they reclaimed the chart crown with I Gotta Feeling and pushed him into second, with Andre's single Behind Closed Doors going in at number four, behind Calvin Harris' single Ready for the Weekend.
