50 Cent avoids Eminem battle

50 Cent delayed his album release so he would not be in competition with Eminem
He said: "I was limited with time on my other projects, and this one, just because the system was in a state of confusion with things changing - the music business itself changed.
"And it was definitely a time where I felt like I was ready and it wasn't a possibility for me to release the record at that point.
"And then the Eminem train came running down the track and I had to get out the way to let Eminem's record go out. Because he had been off for two years, it made good sense for to let him go out first."

It has been reported that 50 Cent scrapped a secret show in New York amid fears it will attract violence
Local authorities recruited an "army of cops" to close the area for the show, which was expected to draw around 10,000 local residents, fearing that violence would break out.
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has since stepped in, assuring worried community members that the singer will definitely not feature on the bill.
A statement from the mayor explained: "Our understanding after talking with 50 Cent is he has no plans to perform whatsoever. He might go, but he's not going to perform."

50 Cent is to pay tribute to Michael Jackson on what would have been the King of Pop's 51st birthday.
The rapper has signed up to perform at a theme park benefit show in New Jersey on August 29 (which is also my birthday !) which will help raise cash for the rapper's G-Unity Foundation.
He also revealed that he has dedicated his latest mixtape, Forever King, to the late pop superstar - and changed the project's artwork and some of the rhymes and lyrics to honour Jackson, who died on 25 June (09).
